Gemmological Profile
Beside the regular Gemmological Reports, the Gübelin Gem Lab offers the Gemmological Profile. A more comprehensive document, providing background information on the type of gemstone, its history and identity, its authenticity and origin as well as individual images of the gem’s inclusions. It also contains analytical details and an insight into the microscopic, chemical and/or spectroscopic data the experts at the Gübelin Gem Lab have gathered on that specific stone. A truly innovative product, the Gemmological Profile mainly caters to the end consumer.
Gemmological Profile
The Gübelin Gem Lab is privileged to be entrusted with unique and treasurable gemstones. For many gemstones received for testing, the Gübelin Gem Lab offers an additional product, the Gemmological Profile, complementing the regular Gemmological Report.
Providing a wealth of context and insights to the gemstone described in the lab report, the Gemmological Profile mainly caters to retailers and the end consumer. Gemmological Profiles provide background information on the type of gemstone, its history and identity, its authenticity and origin as well as individual images of the gem’s inclusions. It also tells about the geological setting and age of the gem deposit it grew in, and contains analytical details and an insight into the microscopic, chemical and/or spectroscopic data the experts at the Gübelin Gem Lab have gathered on that specific stone.
Every piece of gem is unique, and so is the Gemmological Profile. This booklet can be requested directly by the client submitting the stone for testing to our lab. It can also be ordered at a later stage, by a subsequent owner, in most cases without having to resend the gem to the lab.
Gemmological Profile Plus
A more prestigious and luxurious version of the standard Gemmological Profile, only exceptional gemstones qualify to earn a Gemmological Profile Plus by the Gübelin Gem Lab. The book impresses with its classy craftmanship, including a high-quality leather cover, with the details of the particular stone printed and embossed.
The elegant slipcase provides a stylish presentation and further protection. Numerous high-resolution photographs and photomicrographs of the stone and its internal features emphasize the beauty and individuality of the stone presented. A Gemmological Profile Plus combines science with artistic documentation, a premium gift for outstanding gemstones. Gemmological Profiles Plus are best requested when submitting the stone for testing to a Gübelin Gem Lab. It can also be ordered at a later stage, and by a subsequent owner, provided the stone is sent again to one of our laboratories for further documentation.
