Our mission as a gemmological laboratory is to bring transparency into the purchase of gemstones and jewellery, by determining value-relevant characteristics such as the identity, authenticity and the country of origin. To fulfill this mission, we are listening to what the stones are telling us, through their microscopic and submicroscopic inclusions, their structural properties and chemical composition.

For this task, we apply the most sophisticated technologies and state-of-the-art scientific analyses. Based on these analytical data we draw final conclusions, which we disclose in our Gemmological Reports.

For most types of coloured gemstones, the Gemstone Report includes the Gübelin Gemstone Rating. Stones which reach more than 75 rating points qualify for a Gübelin Gemstone Rating document, included in the fee for the Gemstone Report.
